Covington County Quilters' Guild
Fourth Annual Retreat
March 4-5-6
The Covington County Quilters’ Guild the "Sweetgum Stitchers" held their Fourth Annual Quilt Retreat at Blue Lake Camp near Andalusia March 4-5-6. Karen Clark, President of the Guild, was in charge of the retreat.
Guild members brought their sewing machines and supplies and enjoyed a weekend of sewing, visiting and fellowship with lots of good food. Members worked on individual projects as well as working on Comfort Quilts to be placed in area law enforcement cars for children in time of need. They also made pillow cases for charity. To date almost 150 Pillowcases have been donated to those in need in the community
The Guild currently has 47 members from all areas of Covington County.. Those attending the retreat either as overnight campers or day visitors were Joyce Adams, Dianne Baker, Jane Barber, Maribel Brown, Helen Birch, Barbara Cantaline, Monica Cauley, Karen Clark, Marsha Day, Joan Grimes, Jan Harbuck, Sharon Hopkins, Ruth James, Shelia Johnson Shirley Langford, Anne Mallory, Rose McDonald, Mary Ann McGowan, Fay Meeks, Joyce Meeks, Sylvia Mounts, Theresa Nelson, Linda Pate, Pat Pritchett, Bev Robinson, Judy Turner, Rachel Turner, Jane Wallace, Norma Williamson, Doris Wise. Guest attending were Eileen Bickerand Kathy Villashaw from Pensacola
