DANCING WITH THE QUILT
STARS!!

and inspiration....stars twinkle at night....make your quilt
twinkle with stars...Chart your Stars, setting
decisions, diagonal or straight set, how many blocks??
I have been trying to figure out the best way to do
the 'Dancing with the Quilt Stars' BOM
I finally got it!!! I was online searching
and ran across a fun and easy 'star' scrappy quilt!!
It is for beginners and advanced quilters
alike. If you have been quilting for a long while, you will have lots of
scraps...if not, you can get a kit!! Some of us might even share some
scraps with you!! I wanted it to be light and fun for the summer, so we
will have time to go to the beach or pool!!!
Thursday, May 20 at 4:30 or Sat. May 22 at
9:30AM, we will start DANCING WITH
THE QUILT STARS...SCRAPPY OR
NOT!! We will meet once a
month ... intro May meeting, then we will meet, June 17 or 19,
July 15 or 17 and August 19 or 21. We are
making 3 stars a month. I will make kits or you can make scrappy
stars from your stash!! Now we know most of you have a big bunch of scraps
or stash to choose from...if you don't, I do!! It will be a light hearted,
nothing serious, easy fun Stars of
the Month!!
Actually, the stars are all alike, you only
need to learn it once........easy and fun, no fancy rulers or anything extra to
buy, Your scraps, Now if you are more of the serious kind
and like your quilts coordinated...you can use Jelly Rolls or other coordinating
2 1/2" strips and cut 2 1/2" sqs for background. Your stars will have a 'theme'.....Remember I mentioned about using scraps leftover from projects and to cut
strips or even 2 1/2" sqs. from them and putting them into a bin or
box...now is the time to get them into a quilt!!
Every month we will meet and share our scrappy stars
with each other.
If you like, some of you may 'swap' blocks.
This will be fun if you are not doing the coordinating look. You can
'donate ' a block and then the next month pick out of the tub to add back into
your set of blocks!! (This is so we have blocks from the Thursday and Sat.
group to chose from).
When you are done in August, you will have 12
blocks...now if you want you can go crazy and make as many stars as you
want. Blocks are 12", so start to Chart
your Stars
and consider the size of your quilt and 'Scrappy or Not???
Cost of attending the Star-Studded event is $25.00.
